TNAU 2025 Overview
- Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has collaborated with Annamalai University (Faculty of
Agriculture) to conduct a unified undergraduate and diploma admission process. This combined
counselling initiative aims to streamline admissions into various agriculture-related programs
across both institutions.

- B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Sericulture
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Food, Nutrition and Dietetics
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri-Business Management
- B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
- B.Tech. (Food Technology)
- B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
- B.Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering)
- B.Tech. (Agricultural Information Technology)
- B.Tech. (Bioinformatics)

Annamalai University (Faculty of Agriculture): Offers 2 undergraduate programs.
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture
- Admissions are based on merit, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying
examination. There is no
entrance examination for candidates from Tamil Nadu. However, candidates from other
states
must apply
through the ICAR entrance examination.

- Candidates must have passed all subjects in 10+2 from: Tamil Nadu HSC Board / CBSE / ICSE / other state & international boards recognized by TNAU

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

Group II:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology with one elective from: Biotech, Microbiology, Biochemistry, CS, IT, Home Science, Agriculture,
Horticulture, Env. Science

Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology

For Engineering programs, Mathematics is essential.

Vocational Stream Eligibility:

Only for: B.Sc. (Agri, Hort., Forestry), B.Tech. (Agri Eng.)
- Vocational subjects must include Biology & Agricultural Practices (with theory and
practical's).
- 5% of seats are reserved exclusively for vocational stream students.

- Max age: 21 years as on 01.07.2025
- No age limit for SC, SCA, ST
- Differently abled: 5 years relaxation

Only Tamil Nadu candidates or those who studied 10th-12th in TN are eligible for general
counselling.

Others must provide a Permanent Residence Certificate in Tamil Nadu (Appendix-VI).

Number of Attempts Allowed:
- SC/SCA/ST: Max 3 attempts
- Others: Max 2 attempts

Other Requirements:
- Physical Fitness Certificate (from a Government Medical Officer)
- Original document verification during counselling
Application Process

Online Registration:

- Register by providing basic personal and contact details.

Filling the Application Form:
- Log in using the credentials received after registration.
- Fill in academic details and other required information.

Uploading Documents:

Upload scanned copies of:
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Signature
- Class 10th & 12th mark sheets
- Community Certificate (if applicable)

Payment of Application Fee:
- Pay the application fee online through the provided payment gateway.

Submission:
- Review the filled-in application form and submit it online.
- Download and save the acknowledgment for future reference.
Application Fees
- General / OBC Candidates: ₹600
- SC / SCA / ST Candidates: ₹300
Note: The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid
online during the application
process.
Admission Procedure

Merit List Preparation:
- A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Publication of Rank List:
- The rank list will be published on the official website.

Counselling Process:
- Candidates will be called for online counselling based on their rank.
- During counselling, candidates can select their preferred colleges and confirm allotment.

Seat Allotment:
- Seats will be allotted based on the candidate's rank, preference, and seat availability.

Admission Confirmation:
- Candidates must confirm their admission by paying the prescribed fees and submitting the
required documents.
