πŸ€” Frequently Asked Questions About NEET UG

In most cases, yes β€” you can still appear for the NEET exam even if an FIR is filed against you, unless:
  • There is a court order restricting your movement
  • You are involved in serious criminal charges, and the authorities (police/court) deny you permission to travel or appear for public exams
Important Notes:
  • NTA does not ask for criminal background details in the NEET application.
  • Until conviction by a court, an FIR alone doesn't disqualify you from appearing in NEET or any national-level entrance exam.
  • You may need to seek court permission if you are under any restrictions (like bail conditions).
Recommendation: Always consult a legal advisor or advocate if you're unsure or if the FIR is serious in nature. They can guide you on how to obtain permission or file an appeal if needed.

Your application may get rejected, and you won't be allowed to appear. Always double-check every entry before final submission.

Yes, you can appear for NEET if there is no official ban or disqualification order placed against you by your school board or any competent authority. However, you must be careful of the following:

  • If the malpractice was only suspected but not proven, or you completed the penalty period, you're eligible.
  • During NEET itself, if caught using unfair means, NTA will debar you from NEET for 1 to 3 years, depending on the severity.
Important: The NEET application includes a declaration stating you haven't used unfair means in any national exam β€” false declarations can lead to cancellation of candidature.
